Veliyx Driver is a mobile application for drivers who provide ride, food delivery, and parcel delivery services on the Veliyx platform. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Account & profile data — name, email address, phone number, profile photo, gender, ID details, and account type (email, Google, or Apple sign-in).
- Driver documents — driving licence details and images, vehicle information, and verification-related data needed to approve your driver account.
- Location data — precise location while you are online or on an active trip, including background location where required to update your position during trips.
- Trip & order data — accepted jobs, pickup and drop-off details, route information, trip status, chat related to active jobs, and earnings history.
- Payment data — bank / payout details and payment partner identifiers (such as Stripe-related account IDs) needed to process withdrawals. We do not store full card numbers in the app for driver payouts.
- Device & technical data — device type, operating system, push notification token, app version, and basic diagnostics needed to operate and improve the service.
- Support communications — messages or requests you send through Help or support channels.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your driver account and profile setup.
- Verify your identity, licence, and vehicle eligibility.
- Match you with ride, food, and parcel jobs near you.
- Show maps, routes, and live tracking during trips.
- Enable in-app messaging and trip status updates.
- Calculate earnings, show balances, and process withdrawal requests.
- Send important notifications about jobs, account status, and security.
- Improve safety, prevent fraud, and maintain platform integrity.
- Comply with legal, regulatory, and tax obligations where applicable.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only as needed to operate the service, including with:
- Riders, restaurants, or customers — limited profile and trip details required to complete a job (for example, driver name, photo, location during an active trip, and vehicle info).
- Service providers — trusted partners that help us with hosting, maps, authentication, analytics, messaging, and payments (such as Firebase, Google Maps / Places, and Stripe).
- Legal authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
5. Location Data
Location access is essential for Veliyx Driver. We use your location to show your position on the map, find nearby jobs, navigate to pickup and drop-off points, and keep trip tracking accurate.
Where permitted by your device settings, we may collect location while the app is in the background during active trips so your live position remains updated. You can manage location permissions in your device settings; however, limiting location access may prevent you from receiving or completing jobs.
6. Payments & Payouts
To receive earnings, you may provide bank and identity information used by our payment partners. Payout requests, order amounts, and related status information are processed to transfer available balances to you. Payment partners may process and store information according to their own privacy policies and compliance requirements.
7. Data Retention & Security
We retain account, trip, and payout-related information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you delete your account, we remove or de-identify associated account records where reasonably possible, subject to legal retention requirements and residual trip/payment records that must be kept for compliance.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices & Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access or update profile information in the app.
- Manage notification and location permissions on your device.
- Request account deletion from Settings → Delete Account.
- Contact us to ask questions about your personal data.
If you signed in with Google or Apple, those providers may also control some identity information according to their policies.
9. Children’s Privacy
Veliyx Driver is intended for licensed adult drivers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy, where permitted by law.
